Descrierea anunțului

About the Job We are looking for a Software Safety Engineer to support the development of safety-critical embedded software within automotive engineering projects. This role combines hands-on software engineering with Functional Safety execution, with a strong focus on ISO 26262-compliant software development across the full V-cycle. You will work closely with system, software, hardware, and test teams to translate safety goals into software requirements, architecture, implementation, integration, and verification activities. The role is well suited for engineers who understand embedded software development and want to apply that knowledge in a structured, safety-driven environment. About Piaxo Piaxo is an engineering company delivering end-to-end R&D services for the automotive industry, covering the complete V-cycle from concept to validation. We stand out through senior engineering teams, a strong focus on quality and processes, and proven delivery against key milestones such as ASPICE compliance, supported by TISAX Level 3 certification and our role as an official Tehnica Engineering reseller. Headquartered in Romania, with offices in Cluj-Napoca and Timisoara and an international presence in Munich, Germany, Piaxo is expanding its Timisoara site into a permanent office with an automotive laboratory. The location is planned to scale to 120+ engineers and technical experts, delivering complete product development across all competencies as part of a long-term, well-defined program with a major Tier-1 customer. Key Responsibilities Software Safety Requirements & Traceability Derive, refine, and manage software safety requirements from system-level safety requirements and the hardware-software interface. Ensure bidirectional traceability between safety goals, technical requirements, software architecture, software units, and verification artifacts. Support the definition and maintenance of safety-related work products, templates, guidelines, and checklists. Software Architecture, Design & Implementation Contribute to the development and review of safe software architectures for embedded automotive systems, including decomposition into software components and software units. Support the implementation, configuration, integration, and verification of embedded software modules, including AUTOSAR-based communication and diagnostics stacks where applicable. Contribute to the functional safety analysis at SW level ( SW FMEA, Software Safety Analysis etc.) Document software design, configuration parameters, interfaces, assumptions, constraints, and integration results in alignment with project and OEM standards. Verification, Integration & Problem Solving Define and review software unit, integration, and embedded software verification activities in accordance with ISO 26262 software lifecycle expectations. Participate in reviews of software safety work products and ensure evidence of completeness, correctness, consistency, and test coverage. Collaborate on debugging and root cause analysis using appropriate engineering tools and support resolution of software safety and integration issues. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Continuous Improvement Work closely with systems, hardware, software, and test teams to ensure consistent execution of safety activities across the V-model. Support internal assessments, audit readiness, and continuous improvement of software safety development processes. Contribute lessons learned and process improvements to enhance robustness, efficiency, and compliance across projects. Required Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field. Professional experience in embedded automotive software development, ideally in safety-relevant applications. Practical experience with ISO 26262, especially software development activities aligned with Part 6. Good understanding of the V-model, requirements engineering, software architecture, unit design, software integration, and verification workflows. Hands-on experience with embedded C, RTOS-based systems, and automotive microcontroller platforms. Knowledge of AUTOSAR Classic Platform, especially Communication (COM) and Diagnostics (DIAG) stack integration, is a strong advantage. Familiarity with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, Ethernet, and diagnostic services such as UDS. Experience with engineering and validation tools such as Vector DaVinci Configurator/Developer, EB tresos, CANoe, CANalyzer, oscilloscopes, and debuggers. Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Ability to work in a structured, process-oriented environment with clear documentation and compliance expectations. Preferred Qualifications ISO 26262 Practitioner certification or equivalent Functional Safety training. Exposure to safety analysis methods and work products such as HARA, FMEA, FTA, FMEDA, or DFA. Experience in electrification projects, battery systems, or power electronics. Familiarity with ASPICE-aligned development environments and release processes. Experience developing Complex Device Drivers (CDD) or integrating low-level platform software for custom use cases. Opportunities for You Work with senior technical leaders in Functional Safety, Embedded Software, and Systems Engineering. Contribute to advanced automotive development programs with strong process maturity and long-term customer engagement. Gain exposure to modern embedded software platforms, AUTOSAR integration, and software safety methods. Be part of a growing engineering organization with long-term career continuity and technical depth.
